Dad in Haiti

My dad left this afternoon with a group of doctors to help the people in Haiti. I'm really proud of him. He actually left for Salt Lake City on Thursday and has spent the past three days calling hospitals and gathering thousands of dollars of medical supplies, which he packed into duffel bags for he and the other doctors to carry over with them. Please say a prayer for him that all will go well and that they will be able to help as many people as possible. We are heartbroken over the pain and suffering the people of Port-au-Prince are going through right now. It's very difficult to watch the news and see the photographs of all those who are injured or completely devastated because of the quake. My dad saw those images and called up our church's humanitarian aid department and hopped on the next plane to Salt Lake City. He is an amazing man, father, and example.

Here's a link from the Desert News about the team:

When I turned on the Today show they had a segment about all the doctors and nurses who have arrived to help. I kept watching for Mark. It's so wonderful he has the skills and desire to help. We'll pray for his safety!

It is wonderful to know he can go personally to help.

Dawns on me he's not Dr. Egbert, as that would mean he is Rob's dad. God Speed Dr. Rampton.
