My little bubs is home

My brother Bobby just got home from a two year mission to Dominican Republic! We got to go down to Oregon last weekend to welcome him home. Rob, Jasper, and I took the train down to Portland, met up with my parents, and then headed over to the airport to greet him with signs and hugs as he walked off the plane.

He seems to be adjusting really, really well. The language transition back to English from Spanish seems to get him every so often and I can see the signs of a little bit of culture shock, but he's not weird or awkward like some missionaries are when they return. He's also not the Bobby he was before he left. He's taller, more mature, handsomer (I don't know if that's a word or not), and more serious about school and his future. At the same time he's still got his querky sense of humor and he'll always be my little bubs who I adore. He's way skinny from only eating beans, rice, and peanut butter sandwiches for two years.

Here's a picture of us eating dinner after picking him up:

Here's a hilarious picture of Bobby's "carry on". It was a cardboard box full of books:

And here is Bobby's tie collection:

Welcome Home Bobby!!! We all missed you and love you so much.

When Brent got home from the DR (his mission as well) he looked just like Bobby. Very skinny, an older version of himself, and a little bit hispanic (with the 5 o'clock shadow). I'm so glad he arrived home safely and your mom looks even happier!
