Thanksgiving in Corvallis

We had a lovely, snowy Thanksgiving with my parents in Corvallis. It was just about the most quiet, low-key holiday we've ever had and it was really a nice. My mom's sister and her husband came down from Portland and my dad's old college buddy Ade came over too. Played a riveting game of scrabble between my mom, aunt, and Rob. I think I won ;) or maybe not. Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure my mom won. I know I beat her by 100 points on another scrabble game I played with her while I was visiting, so I wasn't too crushed about losing the Thanksgiving game ;) The food was all delicious. Rob made his family's cranberry jello and pumpkin custard as tradition would have it. That jello is always a big hit.

It snowed while we were there! The boys had such a good time. Here are some pics-

making tracks

I love this little guy SOOOO much!

Rob arrived the morning before Thanksgiving. His train ride took twice as long because the tracks were frozen in multiple spots along the way. We enjoyed the snow again with Daddy!

Nothing better than a barbie car and snow

We made "healthier" gingerbread houses with graham crackers and raisins. The boys loved them!

Rob had to fly out to Minnesota for work, so I stuck around a few more days and hung out with my mom and dad.

Jasper and Gid love their Gumpa. He took them around in the wheel barrow and my mom and I took off for some mommy-daughter time.

We had a little family hootenanny too. Gideon asks to hear "Gumpa" everytime we get in the car, so hearing him live was quite the treat for this little guy.

Got in a little visit with Grandma Dorothea. She is 103, I believe. She's doing alright but mostly confined to the couch at this point. Her eyesight is gone but she hears well. Jasper and Gid were so gentle with her and gave her nice hugs.

Our friends the Kellems recently moved to Eugene from Kansas, so we got to spend a day and a half with them. They have a little boy, Liam, who is only a week or so younger than Gid. He is a super cute little boy. It was fun to see our kiddos play together. We did a little shopping and sightseeing in downtown Corvallis, watched the fabulous hometown Corvallis Christmas parade, and went to the Train Show in Adair Village.

Thanks, mom and dad for your generosity and love whenever we come to visit. We miss you already!

I love that light dust of snow you got in Corvallis! How fun!

And the boys buzzes look so cute and fresh! Kinda makes them look older... or maybe they ARE just older :)

So glad you got to have a nice peaceful holiday with mom and dad!
