Carkeek Park Hiking

Went hiking at a great park near our house on April 13th with our good friend Andy Schmidt and little Anza.

Carkeek Park has some great overlooks of the Puget Sounds and access to the beach. Andy showed us an old orchard that had become completely overgrown and lost, until rediscovered a few years back. It was incredible because it's kinda like horticultural archeology when a garden or orchard is rediscovered and teaches you something about the history of a certain location.

Anza is four months older than Jasper, but we are counting on them being good friends as they grow up together. The Schmidts have been good friends of ours since we moved here. They love the outdoors as we do. We are planning on some fun backpacking with our little ones this summer!

Little Jasper is adorabe! On the hike was Rob wearing a backpack backwards to hold the mini? If so, how creative!

It's actually called an ergo baby carrier. It is really, really great. We love it (so far). You can carry the kid on the front, side, or back, and use it up to age five. Marcus and Becca were the ones who had an ergo first and love it, so we wanted to follow in their footsteps.
