Nature School today

We had such a fun time today at nature school! We spent the morning picking blackberries and oregon grape berries. We also collected natural "paintbrushes"- flowers, grasses, leaves, sticks, etc. Then we squished the berries through some mesh, added some vinegar and salt, and made ourselves some pioneer ink. I had brought some okra to use as a stamp also and the kids went to town.

This is gideon's work:

This is jasper's:

This is mine:

We talked about seeds and pollination:

I believe the kids had the most fun doing this, though:

Thanks, Brad, for entertaining the kids!

That little nature school you put on, really is the coolest Sara Jean! I love the idea of "pioneer ink" and using blackberry juice to make art with the kids.

Do you remember when we were little girls and we would take blackberry juice and wipe it on our legs and pretend we were bleeding?

You are absolutely fabulous Sara. One of a kind. I wish I lived near you so I could see you with your kids and join in on your nature school.

Love it.

I need to live near you when I have kids so we can come to nature school!! My mom did similar types of activities with us when we were little and they are some of my favorite memories!
