Pre- Christmas

We had a great Christmas break. Saw tons of family and friends in both Oregon and Utah. Jasper, Gideon and I started our trip on December 18th. We drove down to Oregon so that we could have a good chunk of time with my mom and dad, brother Bobby, my sister Lisa and her family, our friends Kausik and Sharyn, and Caroline and Seth Sherry who are some of our dearest friends.

Here are few pictures of a little wetland hike we took with Lisa, David, Caroline, Seth, and Tommy. The wetland was WET!

The next day we went to one of the best parks in Corvallis- Wildcat Park with the Sherrys and Lisa and David. We had a great time and the sun shined on us a little bit. The kids ran around the playground and out onto the black top. Seth and I reminisced a little about elementary school days at Wilson. Running across that blacktop brings back lots of memories of being pantsed, playing wally-ball, tether-ball, catching bugs, etc.

Jasper and Gid had such a great time playing with their cousin David. We don't get to see our cousins enough... Jasper and Gid pulled David into their superhero world (or maybe he's already in it also) and they did some good chasing and fighting "bad guys". We needed them to sit still for a moment so we could finish cooking dinner or something, so we put on a DVD. They went from screaming and running full speed to this in about 5 seconds:

Celebrated Gid's 2nd birthday on Christmas Eve with some cake and blowing out the candles. It was really nice to do. Even though we'd already had a little party a few weeks earlier, I still wanted to do something on his actual birthday day. It's going to be a challenge trying to find the right way to pull of a Christmas Eve birthday every year. I don't want to add to the busy feeling of Christmas Eve, but I also feel weird about not doing anything for Gid on his actual birthday. Anyway, he's two and he's one of the most fun loving, joyful two year olds on earth! I love him more each day.
