I'm going to work backwards because that seems to be the least intimidating. We had beautiful weather today so I took the boys to our garden and neighboring park. Salmonberries are ripe and Jasper and Gid each ate about 30. If I remember correctly, northwest native blackberries are ripe around the same time as salmonberry, so we are going to be taking a hike at Discovery park sometime this week...
Jasper and Gid are best buds. At the park, Gid follows Jasper around everywhere and when he loses sight of him, Gid yells out, "Ja, Ja, Ja!!!" until Gid finds him. It's very adorable. Jasper doesn't mind being the cool big brother. Lately, Jasper has been taking Gid hand and leading him around the house or park. Very cute.
Rob took both boys on their first ever Father/Son campout last weekend!!! They had so much fun! I had so much fun! I couldn't believe it when they drove away that I was going to have a night all to myself. I was seriously giddy and couldn't wipe this huge grin off my face. Rob and the boys had a great time setting up camp, sleeping together under the stars, eating popsicles for breakfast (not really, but kind of), going canoeing, hanging out with friends. I missed them by the time they came home, even though I had a fabulous time sewing, running, gardening, etc.
I've volunteered to be in charge of the children's garden at our p-patch this year. Last Saturday we had our kick-off planting party. I'd started about 30 pumpkin starts and 10 corn starts at home for all the kids. The party was really fun- the kids planted their starts, stuffed scarecrows, plant about 40 bush bean seeds, and had a potluck style lunch. There are about 30 kids at our p-patch participating this year, more than ever before, which is great! I spent about 5 hours at the garden on Saturday, getting the plot all ready for the party and helping all the little ones plant their pumpkins and corn without smashing the other little plants :) I love working with kids in the garden, my own and other people's kids too. If you want your kiddos to get some time in the garden, send them my way. I'll put them to work weeding, watering, and planting in no time.
We've had both boys in swimming lessons the past few weeks, which has been a great experience for them both. Jasper got a little certificate last week for completing his "3 year old level". Gideon just loved the whole experience.
Last week, I drove down to Oregon with Jasper and Gideon, to see my folks and my sister Anna's family. Anna and her family are moving to Arkansas in a few weeks because James got a new job! They are excited and I'm so happy for them too. Anna had a little baby girl, Alice Eve, about 7 weeks ago so I got to meet me newest little niece too. It was sooooo much fun to see them. I miss my sister already. She and I had some good sister chats. I loved holding little Alice Eve. Such a beautiful, sweet, calm baby. And, oh, how much I love being with my mom and dad. They are so wonderful to me and my boys. Jasper sure loves his cousins Jimmy and Johnny. He keeps asking to see them again.
Everyone took turns on this little trike we brought with us:
We got all four boys in the bathtub together!
Jimmy had a broken arm :(
Gid has a sense of humor that has started to pop up!

I can't believe how much fun stuff you are doing! What is Discovery park? It sounds really awesome! Where did you get that tricycle because I want to get one just like it for Liam. We are going to be in Oregon the first week in August. Will you be coming down at all in August?
Such great photos! I miss you so much too!
