Two month day

Gideon's two month day is tomorrow! I can't believe he's already two months old. His little personality is sure coming out the past few weeks. He's a big talker- coos and ooos all the time (when he's awake and alert). I can already tell he's going to be a good communicator. Jasper has started to show a little more interest in his baby brother which is fun. Yesterday and today he tried to give him toys to play with and became a bit frustrated when Gideon was unable to take the toy out of his outstretched hand. Jasper has also been giving him lots of hugs and kisses which I love to see. The past week or so Jasper has been really emotional. Our pediatrician told us that sometimes the toddler will have a regression a few months after the baby is born. I'm sure that some of his melt downs are due to this. He's also an almost two year old and probably just doing normal almost two year old behavior. Jasper is so much fun right now, though. He's putting two and three words together and making little sentences. He's really into "stop" and "go"- on the bus, in the stroller, on walks, in the car. It's pretty fun. We got him a little play mobile excavator which has become his first favorite toy and he carries it around with him everywhere lately.

I feel like I'm sort of getting this hang of this two kids tango, although, I still feel pretty overwhelmed about 90% of the time. Somedays I am not very patient and I've snapped at Jasper which doesn't feel good at all (like today when he was throwing pennies on the kitchen floor over and over again until I yelled at him to stop). I'm trying to take time to read my scriptures everyday because when I do I have a better spirit in my heart and I'm more patient and loving towards Jasper. It's hard to find time during the day to sit down and read and ponder the deeper things of life and the world, but it is so important to do. It really helps center me. I sure love Jasper and Gideon. What a blessing it is to be a mother. I feel so fortunate to be able to stay home with them and watch them grow and discover this beautiful world we love in.

Here's the latest photos of Gideon from today:

Sara, he looks so much like your baby pictures! That one of him in the yellow towel especially.

I can't believe he's 2 months- part of me feels he's been around a lot long than that, and part of me feels like he's totally brand new still.

Can't wait to meet him someday!
