Park Place Four Forever

This past weekend was absolutely fabulous. My college roommates and I had a reunion on the Oregon Coast! Everyone but Brooke was able to come, and we missed her sorely.

First a little background on this group of us six. So, freshman year I lived in Stover Hall at Brigham Young University. My belief is that your freshman year of college is a pivotal time in one's life and personal development. You are away from home for the first time and complete freedom is available to you. The friends you make during this time are special in a way that words really cannot describe. I met Marci and Liz my very first day at BYU. We all lived on the same floor and the three of us bonded right off the bat. During our first semester in college, we took off and spent 10 days in Ireland because we found some great deal on the Internet- right in the middle of the semester!! We did lots of other really, really crazy things that I won't get into. So, the story progresses... I started dating this guy named Drew Galvin. He was friends with these three totally awesome, hip girls and he introduced us- Brooke, Kim and Caroline. The six of us girls started hanging out and by the end of the school year we'd decided to be roomates the following year. We found a really awesome apartment complex with a jail-like courtyard in the middle and magenta pink awnings in the front.

For the next three years, in one form or another, we roomed together. Most of us spent at least one semester abroad or on a mission but we always gravitated back to our core little group. We were so close. It was so fun to have these friends through college. I am so grateful for each one of them. These women are all so unique, smart, talented and beautiful. I'm honored to have them as my dear friends.

I could relate all the details of our Oregon Coast reunion OR I could direct you to their blogs. Marci, Liz, and Kim all did a beautiful job recounting our fabulous getaway weekend. It was such a treat. My aunt let us stay at her beach house in Cape Meares. The view was amazing and the weather held up for the most part. The best part of this reunion was that we all just picked up where we left off. It was so relaxing and comfortable. We tried to play games but would end up talking too much. We hiked, saw the cheese factory, explored the beach, watched a movie, ate really yummy food, and enjoyed one another's company. I can't wait for our next reunion in two years!

Hello from Park Place #3! At least for a semester and a summer. How fun to have a core group to always go back to. I moved every year I was at BYU.
