Heather Lake with the Schmidts

This past Saturday, we went hiking with our adventurous friends the Schmidts. I've written about the Schmidts before. They are good friends who we have alot in common with. They also have a little baby, Anza, who is 5 months old. We hiked into Heather Lake, which was absolutely beautiful. There was still quite a bit of snow, which I wasn't prepared for (I wore my chacos and got my toes practically frozen off). It was worth it, though. Heather Lake is a really nice hike because it isn't too far away from Seattle, and the hike wasn't too strenuous either. It was great to hang out with the Schmidts and get experienced baby advice.

I'm a bit behind on the blogs - I know you posted this a while ago, but how does the stump of that tree grow like that - like a huge box? Very cool!
