No camera for a week

I haven't felt up to blogging mostly because I couldn't find my camera this entire past week. Found it about an hour ago in the kids' craft box, mixed in with the crayons, paintbrushes, markers, scissors. Very strange place to find it, I must say. Little Gid must have thought it would be fun to pull a fast one on me. I can't imagine Jasper doing it, but who knows? He's beginning to be a bit more of a prankster these days.

We've been having lots of fun, though. Playing at the park morning and afternoon, doing lots of science projects thanks to Tutu who gave us an awesome science crafts book, playing with all our terrific Seattle friends, etc. Summer is so much fun. I love summer. Our garden looks terrific. Time to go sow some seeds for fall harvest and over-wintering crops. It can't possibly be August already! Wow. This summer has flown by faster than any other summer I can remember.

Rob is working long days trying to finish his paper. We haven't had much time as a family, let alone the two of us. We need date night badly. We did manage to go to the temple last weekend which was wonderful. It always helps us draw closer to one another and the Lord, but there isn't the same "romance" that an out to dinner or a movie date night conjures up.

Gid is talking a ton! I think I made a list of all the words Jasper was saying when he was about Gideon's age. I should do the same for Gid. Poor second kid- his baby book is practically non-existent. Well, it exists, but there is very little on the pages. The least I can do is make a list of the words he's saying. 19 and a half old Gid is saying the following words-

Mommy
Daddy
JaJa (Jasper)
Bobby
Tutu
Pampa (Gumpa)
uh oh
owie
cheese
night night
silky
pacifier
me me me (means he wants to nurse, so I think it means milk)
wawa (water)
luv ooo
nose
belly
tfra tfra (fire truck)
tfra (truck)
crow
two
choo choo
bow wow (dog)
sticky
yucky

Here's a couple of pics from a week ago. We decided to do some finger painting which quickly turned into a lesson in body art. The boys were so excited to have green on their tummies.

That last pic totally gets me laughing. Gid is so cute in his orange speedo.

How fun for them to put paint all over themselves.

Gid is such a good talker! That's a great list for 19 months! :)

It has been such a busy summer! I can't believe our boys will start preschool so soon! The other day Max started talking about what he wants to be for Halloween. Time is seriously flying by.

Adorable kiddos! Around 1:20 in the bike riding video, Jasper's toothy smile looks just like "Robbie" when he was around 3. Cute, cute, cute!!! We were sad we didn't get to see you this summer, but we're still planning on Thanksgiving if y'all can make it. Sending lots of love from Kansas.
