Catching up!

Spring is here, which for me means less time to blog and more time doing the other things I love :) We've been super busy these past few weeks- gardening, tidepooling, family visiting, rocket launching, family bike rides, camping, mother's day, my birthday, etc.

I love these tot programs that the nature centers around Seattle offer for three year olds. We went to one at Discovery park two weeks ago. The kids get a little formalized instruction from a naturalist on a specific topic concerning nature. This past one Jasper participated in was tidepools. It was great!

Rob's brother in law, Matt, came out to Seattle for work. We got to hang out with him for a couple of evenings, which was great fun for the boys, and Rob and I too. Matt took us out to dinner at a great Italian place around the corner. The food was great and the company even better.

I crack up everytime I look at this picture of Matt trying to stop Jasper from knocking over a glass of water.

For Christmas I gave Rob and Jasper a rocket that they could assemble together. They've had a great time working on it the past three months. We finally launched it a few weeks ago at Magnuson Park- a great park for rocket launching if you are interested. We found a huge field where we didn't have to worry about it getting stuck up in a tree or blowing off where we wouldn't be able to retrieve it.

Gid with his first bottle of soda. Rob and I couldn't help laughing as he staggered around the field, clutching this bottle looking a bit drunk off the sugar high.

I had a great mother's day/birthday this year. They happened to fall on the same day so I got extra, extra special treatment from all my boys. I woke up to a beautiful breakfast (couldn't have it in bed because both our boys ended up in our bedroom during the course of the night).

Rob made beautiful French toast with fruit!

The best part of mother's day are these two boys that I love soooooo much!

We went to church where the brethren took care of all the ladies responsibilities. That was sure a wonderful treat. Thank you all so much (including my own, dear husband who played piano for primary)! After church, we biked to the Arboretum and had a lovely picnic followed by some great exploring around the grounds. The rhodies and azaelas were all in bloom and spectacular.

Rob made a gourmet cheesecake for birthday cake which super duper delicious.
