Productive day

It's 4 pm. We just got home from one of the most productive mornings/afternoons of my life:

-Woke up at 7 am
-Starting cleaning the house (we have 25 family members coming into town tomorrow for Rob's graduation): cleaned the windows and walls (with help of boys); washed sheets and blankets; vacuumed bedroom and living room; cleaned out bedroom closet; dusted living room and bedroom; folded laundry; put laundry away (with help of boys); asked Rob to load three huge garbage sacks of stuff into car to take to Goodwill.
-Got in the car around 11 am. Drove to Goodwill and dropped off stuff.
-Drove to Brown Bear and vacuumed out car.
-Drove up to YMCA and worked out with friend Jami.
-Went to Costco and picked up a car full of food for Thursday night BBQ
-Drove back to Brown Bear and decided to go through car wash (kids wanted to earlier but we didn't have time)
-Sorted through magazines
-Unloaded dishwasher
-Started another load of blankets and laundry

Okay, I'm now putting my feet up and eating some food. I'm totally exhausted. I wish it was 6 and I could get the kids ready for bed now. They are having "quiet time" in their room but doing a lot more chatting and playing then being quiet.

Rob is in cram mode, trying to get done as much as he can before his family arrives. I wish that he was ACTUALLY done and then graduating... It's going to be such a blast to see son much family. I can't wait. Neither can my boys. They keep asking if it's Thursday yet :)

the month of May

I haven't been very good at keeping up on blogging... The month of May has been a really busy one. Here are some of the things that we've been doing:
1. We've taken two trips down to Oregon
2. I celebrated my 31st birthday
3. Jasper had his last day of preschool and graduation
4. We bought a minivan :)
5. We've been working pretty much every weekend at our P-patch mulching, trenching, and rototilling
6. I worked with a group of 20 high schoolers at our P-patch during their annual day of service
7. I gave a tour to a different group of 20 high schooler from Washington D.C. at our P-patch
8. Rob and I have been getting ready for graduation in June. We have 30 family members coming into town!
9. Rob has been working all hours of the day on his dissertation and thesis
10. I've been preparing for our P-patch's children's garden fundraiser which is next weekend
11. Teaching nature preschool
12. On top of these things, Rob and I have been trying to keep up with Jasper and Gideon! They are active little boys who like to stay on the move. There is never a dull moment.

So, I guess that is the reason I haven't been very good at keeping up with blogging very well. I feel like there is so little time to sit down and collect my thoughts.

The zoo

Sometimes when we go to the zoo, we don't really see many animals. My boys love this one area called "my backyard". If we walk past it and they realize it, they always want to go in and play. There are no animals. It's full of physical challenges- climbing, sliding, crawling, and wandering around in this neat creek area. When we went last week, we were lucky enough to happen upon a bubble station. My boys loved that too. So after three hours, we only saw the gorillas but had had tons of fun. Our zoo is so awesome and I love that we can walk there anytime :)
