My sweet baby
Ahhhh, I sure love my little Gideon. He is growing so fast! Yesterday, we had his two month check up (although he's not quite two months) and he growing so perfectly- Gideon weighted in at 11 pounds 6 ounces. Rob and I have noticed quite a difference in his demeanor the past week, as he's become less fussy in the evenings and sleeping for longer periods of time. Gideon and I have a little bonding time everyday around noon, when Jasper goes down for his nap. Today he was especially alert so we did a photo shoot-

the passing of our dear Ezra
I feel sadder than I've felt in a really long time. A little boy from our church's primary just passed away from a week long battle with Leukemia. I've been waking up all night long just heart sick for his family and friends. Ezra was 10 years old and full to the brim of life and spunk and vigor. He was incredibly bright and had this infectious smile that filled up any room he was in. He has an identical twin brother, Milo, and an older sister Luka, who, I'm sure, are taking this very hard. Ezra's parents, Ryan and Kandice, have been so strong and shown such faith through this trial. I have so much to learn from this family.
Our ward's primary is very small (only about 15 kids) and super close knit. The kids all know one another really well and this is going to be very, very hard for the children to deal with. I'm not yet sure what to say or how to even approach this delicate and sensitive issue on Sunday.
I know that Ezra is in the Lord's arms and surrounded by the angels of heaven. I know that I'll see him again, on the other side. Sometimes God's timetable and plan just don't make sense, though. My heart is broken. Rob and I just cried and cried last night when we heard the news. I do feel peace knowing he is in a better place and no longer in pain.
Here's a link to the blog that his family put together this past week. It's inspiring to read all the comments of Ezra's family and friends-
